Mighty Moose ManufacturingSouthern Oregon
Product design & prototyping.
Turn your idea into CAD models and drawings for prototyping or manufacture by an outside supplier. Develop custom parts and assemblies around how they will be used and made.
Design-only projects welcome. Prototypes are optional.
File-based projects handled remotely.Local handoff and prototype shipping available.
Design for outside manufacturing
Built around the process.
The final part does not have to be 3D printed. We can develop the design for another shop to manufacture, with the material, process, and deliverables agreed from the start.
Machined parts
Models and drawings for components intended for CNC or manual machining, with important dimensions, fits, and material considered during design.
Laser-cut components
Profiles for plates, panels, and other flat parts, with material thickness, cut geometry, and mating features defined.
Fabricated assemblies
Related components designed around mounting points, connections, clearances, and the fabricator’s requirements.
Custom products
Enclosures, housings, hardware interfaces, and multi-part products developed for the agreed material and manufacturing method.
What you can receive
Files, prototypes, or both.
Choose the deliverables your project needs. You can order design work without purchasing a physical prototype.
3D CAD models
STEP or Parasolid
Part geometry for your manufacturer or compatible CAD software. Exported files contain the model geometry, not the original sketch and feature history.
Drawings & profiles
PDF or DXF
Dimensioned drawings and 2D profiles as required. Drawing detail, materials, tolerances, and any assembly documentation are defined in the quote.
Physical prototypes
An optional development step
Test parts or assemblies for checking fit, size, and basic function. In-house 3D printing is one option; outside fabrication can be included as agreed.
A printed test part does not limit the final product to 3D printing. Its material and construction may differ from the production version.
From concept to next step
Develop it in stages.
Start with a sketch, reference photos, existing CAD, or an early prototype. We work through the shape, features, hardware, and assembly requirements, then review the design with you.
A prototype can be added when useful. Feedback from you or your manufacturer can guide the next revision without requiring a printed part at every stage.
Your quote identifies the design work, files, drawing detail, revisions, and any prototype builds. Hardware sourcing, outside fabrication, and supplier coordination are included only when agreed.
Before you start
Common questions.
Is this only for 3D printed products?
No. Design work can be developed for machining, laser cutting, fabrication, or another agreed process. You can take the CAD and drawings to your own manufacturer. A printed prototype is optional, not the required final product.
Can I start with just an idea?
Yes. A sketch, reference photos, and an explanation are enough to start a conversation. You do not need a finished design or a chosen manufacturer to request a quote. We will clarify the requirements before completing the design.
Will the files be ready to manufacture?
Preparing CAD and drawings for a specified manufacturing process can be part of the project. Your selected manufacturer should review the package before production. Any changes they request can be addressed within the agreed revision scope or quoted separately. Tooling development and formal testing or certification are not included in the standard service.
Do you arrange outside manufacturing?
You can order directly from your chosen supplier. Coordination, sourcing, or arranging outside prototype fabrication can be discussed and quoted separately. Purchasing and managing a production run are not automatically included with the design work.
Does a revision include a new prototype?
Only when the quote includes another build. A CAD revision does not automatically include new parts, outside fabrication, hardware, or assembly. Additional work and costs are agreed before proceeding.
What determines cost and timing?
Design complexity, part count, drawing detail, revisions, and any prototype builds or outside services affect the work involved. Share your budget and deadline so we can discuss a practical starting scope.

What are you developing?
Send sketches, photos, files, or a description. Tell us how the product will be used, how you plan to make it, and whether you need design files, a prototype, or both. Include any budget or deadline.
