Mighty Moose ManufacturingSouthern Oregon
CAD modeling.
Turn your sketches, dimensions, or ideas into a 3D model. Develop a new part, modify an existing design, or prepare files for a prototype or manufacturer.
File-based projects handled remotely.Local part handoff by arrangement.
What we can model
A design you can work with.
Practical CAD for home, hobby, workshop, and small business projects.
Custom components
Brackets, mounts, adapters, covers, and other parts shaped around your dimensions and intended use.
Enclosures & housings
Cases and covers with openings, mounting points, and space for the components they need to contain.
Prototype assemblies
Related parts modeled together to review clearances, attachment points, and how the design comes together.
Changes to existing CAD
Dimensional changes, new features, mounting revisions, and other updates where the source file allows.
Deliverables
Files for your next step.
Tell us how you plan to use the design. The required formats and level of detail are included in the quote.
3D CAD files
STEP or Parasolid
Solid geometry for compatible CAD software, assemblies, and manufacturing workflows. Exported files do not include a native feature history.
Printing files
STL or 3MF
Mesh files for 3D printing. Tell us the intended process and any fit requirements so they can be considered during modeling.
Profiles & drawings
DXF or PDF
2D profiles or dimensioned drawings when included in the project. Drawing detail and any tolerance requirements are agreed in advance.
Not every project needs every format. File compatibility and deliverables are confirmed before work begins.
Built around the application
Start with what it needs to do.
Explain what the part connects to, the space it needs to fit, and how it will be made. Material, clearances, mounting locations, and assembly requirements help guide the design.
A physical prototype can be useful for checking the design before ordering finished parts. 3D printing can be quoted alongside the modeling work.
Have an existing physical part but no digital model? Reverse engineering may be the better starting point.
Before you start
Common questions.
Do I need a detailed drawing?
No. A rough sketch and an explanation are often enough to discuss the project. Additional measurements or decisions may be needed before the model can be completed.
Can you work from photos?
Photos help explain shape and intended use, but usually do not establish accurate dimensions on their own. Measurements or access to the physical part may also be needed.
Can you edit my existing file?
That depends on the format, geometry, and requested changes. STEP and Parasolid files can often be modified; meshes such as STL may need additional work or rebuilding.
Are revisions included?
The quote defines the work and any included revisions. Additional features or a change in direction may require an updated quote before more work begins.
Does the quote include a printed part?
Only when printing is included in the quoted scope. CAD can be delivered as a standalone service, or modeling and printing can be quoted together.
